Boston 94 @ Toronto 88
Air Canada Centre

My main man, Ray Allen, has helped put the Boston Celtics back in the winning game, scoring a season-high 36 points to end the Celtics 4 game losing streak. The rest of the Fab Four were productive, but not spectacular. 14 points and 11 assists to Rondo, 10 points and 11 rebounds to Kevin Garnett and 11 points to Paul Pierce. Sadly, Paul Pierce injured his knee, and may miss the next game - joining Tony Allen and Kendrick Perkins on Boston's injury list. Bargnani scored 17 points for the Raptors, and Moon and Bosh added 15 apiece in the losing effort. Jose Calderon will be injured for their next game - a rematch against Boston - and will join Jermaine O'Neal on the sideline, possibly opening the door for former NBL Rookie of the Year Nathan Jawai to make his NBA debut.

Philadelphia 109 @ Atlanta 94
Philips Arena

Elton Brand and Al Horford both sat on the bench as their teams battled it out - and the 76ers managed to gain their first 4 game winning streak of the season, as Andre Iguodala and Thaddeus Young combined for 49 points. Andre Miller also contributed with 19 points. The 76ers are starting to pick up momentum, and they defeated Joe Johnson's 25 points and Mike Bibby's 22 easily. Johnson refused to blame Horford's injury for the Hawk's losing streak, claiming that injuries are part of the game, and you have to work through them.

Phoenix 109 @ LA Clippers 103
STAPLES Centre

Everyone did their part for the Suns as they overcame a surprising resilient Clippers outfit in Hollywood. Grant Hill had 21 points - 6 in the last 5 minutes - , Amare Stoudamire overcame foul trouble to score 26 points, Shaq had 15 points and 10 rebounds, and was 100% from the free throw line, Jason Richardson had 21 points and Steve Nash had 14 points and 12 assists for the star-studded, yet oddly unsuccessful, Suns. The Clippers 11 game losing streak is the second longest in franchise history, and doesn't look like letting up. Randolph, Baron Davis and Chris Kaman all missed the match. Coach Mike Dunleavey was ejected for arguing a non-call. Thornton had 23 points for the Clippers.

Orlando 105 @ San Antonio 98
AT&T Center

Two very probable All Star starters - Tim Duncan and Dwight Howard - took to the court in San Antonio, and the Spurs were defeated by the Magic, who are coming second in the East. Howard had 28 points, Jameer Nelson added 22 and Hedo Turkoglu dropped 21 to defeat the recent NBA finalists. For the ageing Spurs, Tony Parker had 31 points, Duncan had 18 points and 10 rebounds. The Spurs will play 14 of their next 18 game on the road.

Indiana 117 @ Golden State 120
ORACLE Arena

One of the NBA's most underrated shooters, Jamal Crawford, scored 32 points and his Golden State Warriors narrowly defeated the Indiana Pacers. Danny Granger scored a career high 42 point in the Pacer's loss. Mike Dunleavy and Travis Diener both missed 3 pointers in the dying seconds, which would have sealed the game and sent it to overtime. Kelenna Azubuike added 21 points for the Warriors, while TJ Ford had 15 points and Jarret Jack had 12 for the Pacers. It is the first Warriors win since December 29. Jackson and Ellis remain injured. Former Golden State forward Mike Dunleavy, who was unpopular with Warriors supporters, recieved a poor reception at his old home. He was taken with a No. 3 Draft Pick by the Warriors, and has not lived up to expectation.

Dallas 95 @ Sacremento 102
ARCO Arena

The Kings got their first win of 2009 against an undermanned Dallas squad at home. Kevin Martin scored 21, Beno Udrih had 16, and Brad Miller and John Salmons had 13 apiece. Dallas were without prolific scorer Josh Howard, who is suffering from a sprained wrist. Jason Terry had 33 points, and Dirk Nowitzki scored 15 in the losing effort. Dallas point guard Jason Kidd injured his elbow during a fall in the last quarter, but claimed it was 'nothing serious'

Miami 105 @ LA Lakers 108
STAPLES Centre

The 2nd of a double billing in Hollywood turned out more spectacular. Arguably the two best shooting guards in the league, and US Dream Team-mates, Kobe Bryant and Dwayne Wade, faced of against each other, but it was Laker's centre Andrew Bynum that stole the show, with 24 points and the go-ahead bucket with 20 seconds lefts. Vladimir Radmanovic had 18 points, Kobe had 19 points and 7 assists, Pau Gasol had 14 points and a career-high 18 rebounds and Derek Fisher had 13 points and 11 assists. Dwayne Wade led the game in scoring, with 27 points, and No. 2 Draft Pick Michael Beasley scored 16 of his 23 in the last quarter. Lakers Lamar Odom, Luke Walton and Jordan Farmer were all out injured.

What a day of games, a lot of upsets all over the board! Good to see the Sacramento Kings get up and with a must needed game. I was going for the Miami Heat against the Los Angeles Lakers, that was an intense game. Michael Beasley was on fire in the last quarter he was showing why he was picked number 2nd in the 2008 draft.
