| Portland 79 @ Philadelphia 100 Wachovia Centre
The Philadelphia 76ers managed a 5th straight win for the first time this year, despite missing big man Elton Brand. Sixers guard Andre Iguodala was almost the first member of his team to score 30 or more points this season, finishing with 29 points. The Sixers also managed to hit a season-high 11 threes. Thaddeus Young had 11 points and Andre Miller had 12 for the Sixers. Meanwhile, the Blazers, playing without Fernandez and with Steve Blake leaving injured, had little or no luck. Brandon Roy had 27 points, and LaMarcus Aldridge had 15 points and 9 rebounds, but it was not enough.
Detroit 106 @ Indiana 110 Concesco Fieldhouse
In their 6th match in overtime for the season, the Indiana Pacers came through behind Danny Granger’s 24 points. TJ Ford added 23 points and Troy Murphy added 18 points and 13 rebounds for Indiana. Meanwhile, the woes of the Detroit Pistons continued, with their 3rd consecutive loss – including a 2 point loss to Charlotte. Rodney Stuckey led the Pistons with 30 points, Allen Iverson added 23 and Rasheed Wallace had 17 points and 15 rebounds in the loss. The Pistons have been known to finish games badly this year, and concede that they need to work on that.
Chicago 102 @ Toronto 98 Air Canada Centre
Rookie Derrick Rose scored 17 in the last quarter to lead the Chicago Bulls to victory against the under achieving Toronto Raptors. Rose finished with 25 points overall, and Luol Deng had 16 points and 14 rebounds in his first game as a starter since his injury. With 5.9 seconds left, Toronto had a chance to tie it up at 100, but Bosh’s shot was blocked by Joahkim Noah. Nocioni had 16 points, Hinrich had 12 and Gordon had 10 for the Bulls. Meanwhile, Toronto’s Andrea Bargnani had a career high 31 points, and 10 rebounds, Chris Bosh had 25 points and Anthony Parker had 15 for the Raptors.
New Jersey 86 @ Boston 118 TD Banknorth Garden
They’re back. That’s all you have to say about the Boston Celtics, who have picked up from their recent slump, and are back on a winning streak. Paul Pierce led the Celtics with 22 points as they defeated the New Jersey Nets. Kevin Garnett finished with 20. For the Nets, Devin Harris led with 17 points, while Keyon Dooling, Ryan Andersen and Brook Lopez had 13 apiece. Vince Carter finished with just 4 points. Interestingly, Rajon Rondo only needed to score 3 more assists to have more assists than the entire New Jersey team.
Washington 122 @ New York 128 Madison Square Garden The Knick offense got rolling again, in a match against the struggling Washington Wizards in New York. David Lee had 30 points and 10 rebounds, Al Harrington had 27 points and the Wizards lost their 6th straight game. Quentin Richardson added 26 and Chris Duhon had 17. For the Wizards, Nick Young scored 33, Caron Butler had 25 and Mike James had 20, but left the court due to foul trouble. Last time these two teams met, it was Eddie Jordan’s last game as Wizards coach.
Miami 102 @ Milwaukee 99 Bradley Centre
Daequan Cook covered for a struggling Dwayne Wade, and helped the Miami Heat defeat the Milwaukee Bucks. Cook had a career-high 24 points, Wade had 17 points and 13 assists with 25% shooting, Michael Beasley scored 21, Udonis Haslem had 18 and Shawn Marion managed 14 for the Heat. The Bucks refused to go down fighting, though, with a late comeback almost succeeding, behind Luke Ridnour’s 25 points, Michael Redd’s 16 and Richard Jefferson’s 15 points. Rookie Joe Alexander also helped out with 13 points, as he starts to live up to his potential.
Utah 93 @ Oklahoma City 114 Ford Centre
New acquisition Nenad Krstic had 14 points and 11 rebounds, to help the Oklahoma City Thunder to their 7th ever win against the Utah Jazz. Jeff Green contributed with 23 points, Russell Westbrook had 22 and Kevin Durant had 21 for the Thunder, who have won 4 of their last 8 games. Deron Williams had 25 for the Jazz, while Kyle Korver had 14, and the Jazz saw a 4 game winning streak go out the window. Andrei Kirilenko had 12 points.
New Orleans 104 @ Dallas 97 American Airlines Center
Two of the leagues’ best point guards faced off in the Texan town of Dallas. Jason Kidd, the master of the triple-double, almost had Chris Paul do one better on him. With 33 points, 11 assists, 10 rebounds and 7 steals, Paul was 3 steals away from a rare quadruple-double. Peja Stojakovic and David West each added 16 points for the Hornets, and Devin Brown had 12. Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki had 20 points and 13 rebounds, and Jason Kidd struggled with 7 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Jason Terry was a shining light with 28. Josh Howard missed the game for the Mavericks.
LA Lakers 111 @ San Antonio 112 AT&T Centre
Kobe Bryant. Pau Gasol. Andrew Bynum. Tim Duncan. Tony Parker. Manu Ginobili. When these two teams meet, there are so many choices of who to go to in the final seconds. But the Spurs took a different option – Roger Mason. Mason managed to get a shot up and drop a free throw for a 3 point play to help the Spurs sink the Lakers in a Western Finals rematch. Ginobili finished with 27 points, while Duncan and Parker each scored 20 for San Antonio. Meanwhile, Kobe had 29 points and Gasol had 21 points for the Lakers.
Sacramento 135 @ Golden State 133 ORACLE Arena
These two teams are perennial losers in the NBA this year. And neither wanted to keep that role, as the game at ORACLE Arena went to a third overtime!!! Brad Miller led with 30 points and 22 rebounds for Sacramento, while John Salmons had 25 points and 14 rebounds and Kevin Martin had 23 points. For Golden State, Jamal Crawford had 35, CJ Watson had 26 and Corey Maggette had 17 points.
Atlanta 97 @ LA Clippers 80 STAPLES Centre
The Atlanta Hawks snapped a 4 game losing streak against the LA Clippers in Hollywood. Josh Smith had 26 points, Joe Johnson had 21 points and Ronald Murray had 17 points to defeat the second worst team in the West. For the Clippers, Al Thornton had 25 and Eric Gordon had 18, who haven’t won since mid-December. Marcus Camby contributed with 12 points and 18 rebounds. The Clippers are without stars Baron Davis, Zach Randolph and Chris Kaman.

I'm sure it was. I rarely get time to listen to NBA games (usually only get Bucks games anyway) but I really wish I'd caught that one!
